PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physical therapy is one of the health professions aimed at rehabilitating movement fitness and giving the patient maximum functional independence to support his participation in society. The treatment focuses on the existing limitations in the function resulting from changes in the skeleton, and in the functions of the muscles, the respiratory system and the movement system.

The physiotherapy treatment focuses on expanding existing movement diversity and supporting learning and establishing new motor skills required for independent mobility, such as rolling, sitting, walking, climbing and jumping. The therapy focuses also on improving equilibrium, strength, flexibility, and the client’s coordinative movement ability. The client takes and active part in the treatment, with the staff encouraging the movement, and providing the required support.

Upon arrival, a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s motor capabilities will be performed and then functional goals and a treatment plan will be established according to the family and client’s needs. During the program, you will receive training on how to apply the exercises in your home. Also, if necessary, rehabilitation equipment such as a treadmill, a stander, adjustable chair and braces will be fitted.

The physical therapy at Beit Issie Shapiro is performed in adapted rooms that include equipment and accessories that enable a variety of motor experiences. Physical therapy is provided as part of the overall treatment series.
