Family Therapy Center
A person with a disability faces challenges that can create painful and overwhelming situations. Sometimes this coping causes regression and behavioral difficulties. Emotional care can give place and recognition to these difficulties and help express difficult feelings of anger and frustration. The treatment may help the client to recognize his or her sense of diversity, and help him or her to accept themselves as they are.
The Family Therapy center at Beit Issie Shapiro was established to provide people with disabilities and their families with counseling and treatment of the emotional difficulties that arise at various stages throughout the course of life.
The service we offer is intended for preschool children, through school years and adolescence as well as for adults with emotional difficulties on a personal, family, social and functional background.
For parents of children with disabilities who are dealing with unique parenting situations, we offer parental counseling and guidance, spousal and family therapy, or individual treatments.
We offer treatments for children and adults with learning disabilities at different levels, ADD, ADHD, CP, Genetic disorders, chronic and prolonged illnesses, communication difficulties at different levels, ASD, intellectual disabilities and Dual Diagnosis.
The professionals at the center are psychologists, social workers, art and music therapists, who have expertise and knowledge in working with children and adults with disabilities.
If necessary, counseling and guidance for parents by family therapists will also be integrated into the treatment series, according to the unique needs of each family
